OVERCOMING YOUR FEARS

What is fear, and why does it cause such awful emotions?

Although it might be distracting, fear can be a useful tool for achieving your full potential. It gives you the exceptional opportunity to create a priceless inner energy that enriches your life, which can be a satisfying experience.

But why does fear, most times have negative impacts on lives?

Fear is embedded in every living being. Everyone experiences fear from time to time. Humans however, suffer from wrong fear; Fear of lack, fear of failure, fear of loss, fear of personality, fear of criticism.

Being able to control your fear is the first step to live a complete life. Your whole life is built upon your fear. That tells you what you can do or cannot do and what kind of life that you can have.

 Have you come here to experience life or to avoid life?

 There are things you could be doing right now that would make your life so much better, but you haven't, because you're afraid to do them.You can't sing, you can't laugh, you cry, you can't dance, you can't do anything that is life. You can only sit here and grieve about life and all the risks of life.

Know this; Fear at its best is assumption.

Your fear is always about what’s going to happen next. That means your fear is always about that which does not exist, your fear is hundred percent imaginary. You suffer that which does not exist because you are rooted not in reality but in your mind.

Fear keeps you focused on the past, so that you’ll worry about the future and be paralyzed in the present. Many times, our fears are the result of extreme incidents in the past, and they’ve all influenced the kind of future that we create. You don’t actually know anything about the future. You just take a piece of the past, dust it and think it is future.

The most important thing that you must learn is to overcome your fears.

HOW DO YOU OVERCOME YOUR FEARS?

We all have had fearful situations and we still do. Right now, it feels like the whole world is a scary place; it's easy to develop fear as a result of what you see happening in the world.

How do we control these fears and how can we live fearlessly? If we can be fearless, we can have and create any reality and do anything that we want;

  1.    Question your fears

?What are you actually afraid of?

?What do you hate doing the most? And how does it make you feel?

?What causes your anxiety and makes you feel overwhelmed and scared?

?Are you afraid of being rejected?

I have struggled with asking for help, driven by the fear of rejection (I have the scars from that one), I am afraid of being judged, alone, failing, lacking, losing, and criticism.

Fear robs you of all power!, but what I have discovered is that every time I have overcome these fears I became more confident.

2.  Sit with your fears.

There are times for action and times for reflection. Next time you feel fearful, do nothing. Sit with your fear for a few minutes. Think about it.

What is the root cause? Is it fear of uncertainty? Fear of failure? What is the story you tell yourself about why you can’t overcome this fear? Please look at it and see, what the hell can happen after all? At the most you will die, nothing more. At least live before you die.

A moment of reflection can have a great effect on overcoming fear in a way that is productive, deliberate and effective.

3.       Face your fears

Face your fears whenever you can.  Notice the powerful urge to avoid, and don't give in to it.

Avoiding fears only makes them scarier. Because of your fear, the lion is fiercer!

Whatever you fear, if you face it, it would start to fade.

4.       Take Massive Action

Every negative situation in your life is a thought that has solidified. These situations cannot stand the word of truth and so you say,”The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Your word is your wand filled with power.

You must be wiser than the thoughts of the enemy, you must answer every negative thought with a word of authority, and you must continue till the truth prevails.

“You can’t do this”

“Look at how many times you’ve failed”

“There’s something wrong with you”

“Everybody else can do it. You’re the problem”

“It’s not even worth trying again”

“It’s too good to be true, it can’t last”,

Respond:

”I can do all things through him who gives me strength”

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever”

“For the Spirit God gave me does not make me timid, but gives me power, love and a sound mind”

“For I know the plans God has for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future”

“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”

“God appreciates me, therefore man appreciates me. Nothing can interfere with my divinely designed success”

“One with God I become invisible. Hindrances are friendly and obstacles stepping stone”.

You need to starve out fearful thoughts by not giving them your attention and acting your faith.

Fear is about taking those actions. There are actions that you have not taken that will give you so much more but you have fears about taking those actions. 

Finally, maybe you were blind to your good and thought your friends were your enemies. Now you know there are no enemies, because God uses everyone and everything for your good.
